In July, to St. Jakobi, a traditional event starts in Neugersdorf. The right to hold a market during the shooting festival was already bestowed in 1728 to the privileged shooter's community.

Today it's the biggest shindig of the region. Rides, haunted houses, shooting booths, fortune booths, stalls with food and drinks and at the end a big firework attract annually thousands of visitors.
