Part of the Municipal Museums Zittau are the Town Museum at Klosterstra�e 3 andthe Museum for Geologyof the SouthOberlausitz 'Dr. Curt Heinke' at Kirchstra�e 13.

The Town Museum is situated at the Franciscan Monastery that was founded in1268.

The museum's exhibits are mainlybased on the possession of theold Zittauer Ratsbibliothek (Council Library) and the in 1854 founded 'Pescheckschen Altertumssammlung' (Antiquity Collection).
