The Hetze mill in Leutersdorf was built on the 'Lfflerschen Berge' in the year 1775. The first miller was Johann Gottfried Eichhorn. Around 1863 different attempts were made to increase the increase the mill's performance, as for example a new poll endwith 8 sails first and then 6 sails. But this failed due to high air turbulence and the very high maintenance costs. In autumn 1869 another rebuilding to 5 sails followed. This was the best wind utilisation.
The Hetze mill is the largest still preserved post mill in the Saxon area and also the last one of its kind in the district.

Mill characteristics:

 5 sails
 2 stones

The Hetze mill operated until 1929. On the mill terrain was also a bakery and agriculture to survive during low times. The mill's sails broke off after the end of operation due to storms. 3 sails alone broke in November 1940. Later there was a mill demolition permit because of the high costs. But the mill could be preserved by the user at their own expense.

After the war the mill was revived by the FFW Hetzwalde and R. Maruselke (the owner) till the beginning of the 80ties. Since 1997 the popularity for the mill has grownto the pleasure of all from Hetzwalde and environ.

In May 2002 the club 'Hetzemhle e.V.' with 25 members wasfounded.
The St. John's fire was reestablished as well as the upgrading and preservation of the clubhouse in Hetzwalde. Importance is placed on the preservation of the Hetze mill.
